Keyword Meta tags - Are they really useful?

Are you dependent keyword meta tags for search engine optimization (SEO)? According to the Google Webmasters, Meta Keyword Tags are in fact, useless. 
But all is not lost. You may still need to pay attention to Meta Description tags as they will use it for their description of search results.
